Kermadec Islands 10/21/2011
The good things about the recent earthquake was it was slightly too weak to generate a tsunami AND the Kermadec Islands are effectively uninhabited. Much less damaging than yet another seismic event on or near either the two main islands of New Zealand. That said, our models suggest this event is NOT the last word we’ll be hearing from this particular seismic. In some scenarios (> 13%) we see another earthquake in the Richter 7.9 to 8.1 range in the next 6 – 12 months.
